Alt-Right

It's an ill-defined term I have gotten tired of reading, especially from conservatives.

Amen.

I have abandoned efforts to attach meaning to the character-string.

Most often lately it seems to refer to white supremacists trying to hijack a conservative movement. I run into it when used by people who seem to think there's a lot of that going around, or who are anxious to defuse the suspicion that they're in that camp themselves. I take it for granted there are always some eelbrain supremacists around, just as there are Farrakhan/Ellison types around, but I hope and trust they're small in number.

There's an awful lot of mentions and speculation about the alt-right, but I don't know what it is, and I suspect most of it is untrue.
